So the compressor is still good, yeah? Side note: Cooler has worked solid for 1-1/2 years full time and will at times accumulate ice while set at 36°. I brought it in the house and it runs fine on AC power. I finally downloaded the Dometic wifi app after never needing it, and it said the cooler was seeing 9.6Volts. I tried a bunch of different things including manipulating the bend in the wire of the 12V power cord at each end of the connection (the cord was also showing 12.25V at the female prongs while connected to the power socket). The unit was "working fine" except it would labor after a few minutes of the compressor being on and then would stop with the orange led flash (low voltage warning) and always stop short of the programmed setting. Tested the other socket that I dropped in the other pillar and that one is also 12.25Volts. Multimeter says the lighter socket is 12.25V (regulated by buck/boost). I found yesterday my CFX40 display was showing 45° (setting is 37°). If it recurs I will absolutely wire directly to the battery and I have no doubt that will be a solid perma fix.Ĭan anyone share a somewhat detailed account of how they hardwired their coolers for power? So my guess is those prongs at the end of the cord were making inadequate contact with the metal in the socket. So I bent those prongs back out a little bit and the fridge voltage immediately shot up to 13.1V. My fridge is on a slide and I'm guessing the cord was getting tugged a little each time. I realized one or both of the 'prongs' at the cigarette socket end of the dometic 12V cord were compromised. The 12V bluesea socket was purchased brand new, it's clean as a whistle in there. Which conflicted with what my house battery monitor was reading: 13.3+ I knew my wiring was good. There is a voltage readout on my was reading pretty low.like 12.0 - 12.3 range. I have not yet hacked mine off, but pretty sure I deduced the issue. Are you also using the OEM cigarette lighter socket type plug? Currently testing with 120V AC to see if results differ.īut has anyone experienced something like this? Maybe an overheating issue? It's been fine for 4 months of continuous 24/7 use.Ĭlick to expand.Hey likewise sorry to hear you're having some issues. Sat still in a parking lot and the fridge worked as normal for about 30-45 minutes before shutting down again. So I plugged it in, confirmed LED light was on and fridge cooling. Thought it may be a connectivity issue with the plug itself from rotating. If the plug rotated while in the cigarette socket I believe it disconnected as a result. It appears that it would fire back up after unplugging and replugging.but it was finicky about how I plugged it in. Replaced the little glass 10A fuse in the DC plug tip. I troubleshooted the connection, confirmed juice there. Today it shut down entirely - no LED light on the display, no cooling. I run it from a bluesea 12V cig lighter plug and the OEM DC power cord. I'm a fulltimer and depend on my fridge daily. I was unable to get Dometic on the phone today so thought I'd turn to the community.
