Any help would be greatly appreciated as this one is a real head scratcher for me. There are only three bipolar transistors I have not checked so far, but two of them are by the antenna so I don't feel like they are the problem. Since it doesn't have a Q4 and everything else I have checked thus far checks out ok I am not sure where to go from here. I'm at my wits end on this one and could really use some help. Feeling all the IC's, transistors, bridge rectifier, and voltage regulator none of them seemed to be getting excessively hot to the touch while the power was plugged in. While visually inspecting the board I did notice a good deal of black soot behind the voltage regulator heat sink on the white rectangular capacitors and an ok amount of darker than everywhere else brown dust around R404 which is a 340 ohm resistor thats reading about 380 in the circuit so I'm assuming that one is fine since I didn't feel like pulling it out to test it out of the circuit. All the capacitors look ok, no obvious bulging, blown vents, or leaked electrolyte on the board, but I don't have any real way to test them without removing every single one of them. How do I display the time on my Bose Wave radio Set display clock or radio: With radio On, hold Clock Set then press AM/FM button to switch between clock and radio modes. I have also removed and tested the bridge rectifier (B400) which was not faulty as well as the one lm340t12 voltage regulator directly in front of the bridge rectifier. Press the Time + and buttons to select a setting from 8 to 15. Operating Your Wave radio/CD Time Time Setting the time Alarm 1. I Checked all the voltages off the transformer and I am getting all proper expected voltages off of it on the mains side and on the lower voltage side. Overall, the Bose Wave Radio is a great tabletop radio with a handy time display feature. Operating Your Wave radio/CD Setting the alarms Time Time Alarm 1 Alarm Alarm 2 On/Off Setup On/Off Presets Note: You can set alarms with the Wave radio/CD on or off. What I have tried so far is to use a kilowatt to measure the watt usage of the radio while its plugged in (~7W). Function Control panel Remote control Sleep/Snooze On/Off Presets Wave Radio/CD Wave Radio/CD To display CD information - If the display is in clock mode (see Alarm. On the board above the Bose logo is the number 179551 and this is one of the older models that uses the three AA batteries as a backup. ![]() ![]() I have looked all over the internet and find plenty of repair advice saying to replace the q4 transistor, but this model doesn't have a q4 on the board anywhere. Press Time or Time + to change RESET ALL- NO to RESET ALL- YES. Press Tune > seven times until RESET ALL- NO is displayed. ![]() Press and hold Alarm Time (Menu) until -SETUP MENU- is displayed. I got a Bose AWR1-1W into the shop today that is having the issue where it will not power on when the power button is pushed and makes a horrendous cracking/squelching noise when the power is unplugged. If you wish, you can restore your Wave ® radio, to the original factory settings.
